The artificial channel “Arabian Canal” will be extended by 75km, this construction plans to further develop an entire new town within this area.
The ambitious plans of the Arabian companies are endless, opening new horizons in UAE Real Estate. This conclusion can easily be assumed, watching the progress of the work of yet another impressive project in the Arabian Peninsula, the construction of the “Arabian Canal” of “Limitless” Company. This company is a member of the “Dubai World Group,” in the property and real estate sector. With this project the company is targeting to create a new town close to the mentioned artificial channel, which is currently under construction. This project will be constructed on a land scale of 75km that will start from the Dubai coast and will extend towards the mainland desert. The total investment cost is valuated at 11 billion US dollars and the construction is fast developing.
An interesting factor which has been explored is the question of where to use the soil obtained from the excavations. According to the projects design and plans, the soils from the excavations will be used to form the surrounding channel areas. This is to enable full preservation of soil. Not even a cubic meter of soil will be lost. The plans show construction of artificial hills and mountains up to 200m high, offering view points to the channel and providing the residential areas with panoramic views.
The construction of “Arabian Canal” started in December 2007 and the expected completion of the excavations is said to be at the end of 2011. On either side of the channel a new town will be built. The development of residential areas is of utmost importance as the plans are expected to attract more than 1,5 million inhabitants, choosing to reside in this brand new town where they can enjoy the tailor made comforts and facilities provided for a cosmopolitan lifestyle. |
