The closest town on the mainland, Redland Bay, is a 20 minute ferry ride away (ferries run every 20 mins in peak times). Lamb Island is a small enough to walk around, has the convenience of a kiosk (for the odd takeaway, and emergency supplies). A small, friendly community. Medical aid and doctors available on the island. A car ferry operates several times a day.
Boating is excellent in the calm waters, and good fishing and crabbing. The famous Jumpinpin estuary is minutes away. Only 15 mins by boat would take you to the open ocean with reef and sport fishing all year round to satisfy the keenest fisherman. Deep water anchorage available within sight of the cottage. Bird life is magnificent, turtle sanctuary in waters around island.
Would suit retired or semi retired couple who want a quiet life in a very special environment, yet close enough to go shopping or visit the bright lights of the Gold Coast.
The cottage has been renovated only two years ago, has a heat-pump hot water system that is very cheap to run and super efficient, a treatment plant sewerage system. A shed at the back of the cottage to store your gear in. A specially constructed boat port to store a large trailer boat at the side of the cottage. 2 minutes to the boat ramp for launching.
Nothing to do except move in.
