Szilv·sv·rad lies on the western slopes of the B¸kk Mountains at 345m altitude, 30km north of Eger, 135km north-east of Budapest. An important holiday area in the B¸kk National Park. Szilv·sv·rad has been an international resort place since 1984, when the 7th Carriage Driving World Championship took place here. Life is roused at the beginning of September every year, when the Lipizzaner Horse Festival is organised. Near the house (ten minutes walk) you can find the stables of stud horses, and you can also get acquainted with the history of Lipizzaner horses in a little museum (15 minutes walk). The Szalajka Valley is a popular tourist spot, which you can get to walking on hiking trails, or on mountain bikes, on horseback, or by the lovely little red train through the woods. The house is an impressive, with its own character, quiet detached property within easy reach of the village centre, Szalajka Valley and the station. The charming single glazed windows you can view to the 800-900m height Mountains. The garden has an idyllic position with many kinds of birds, hedgehogs, frogs, flowers, trees (28 pine trees, 42 fruit-trees, and 18 garden-trees), herbs and a garden-pool.
